It Was Supposed to be a Rest Week
… and it kinda was. I had down just a slow, 2 hour ride.
But today I was on Javier’s schedule. It was freezing out, we both had a ride and he just happened to have a 3hr ride to 30min brick. I liked that better than my schedule and needed a little bit more than the 2hrs with what the week delivered.
We just loaded up on the coffee, spun and ran, all while shooting the breeze. I think it’s just been so dark and cold while we’ve been training lately that it went by so fast with a training partner as a distraction from the grind. MTV’s Rock of Love also helped to entertain after we stumbled on that while clicking through the channels.
The spin was slow and the run was FREEZING outside. The wind was up but the hills around the house set the temperature at least a little bearable after the 15min mark. This has been a pretty cold month or so. We took the first half way too fast because of the temperature, but once we settled in and the hills came again the pace slowed way down to what it should be.
