Monday 8/20
Today is supposed to be a long swim day, but due to the pool hours and work, I had to break it into 2 sessions. The goal today is to swim 6×500. I just came back from the first half of it, will clean up and go to work, and then hit the second half this evening (if all goes according to plan;).
- 3×500 roughly 35min swim time (with 3 – 5 min rest)
I am very sore from last week and into this past weekend. Those hills yesterday threw some creaking sounds into some apparently new muscles last night. The whole body is being worked in this peak phase and it feels awesome to be able to just keep taking it up a notch from where you thought you could. I think that’s what I’m liking about this training the most. Just when you think you’ve hit a limit, you pass it and look back and say, “Hey, that wasn’t as bad as I thought!?!”
Well, same thing this evening. I got there a little after 7pm and needed to wait for a lane, this evening’s break down was the same as this mornings.
