Off we go… calling it a rest day for traveling. Kate and I were up with the sun to drive down to JFK and head off to the island. The flight was delayed about an hour which was no big deal. We got in on a very smooth flight, picked up the rental car (one of these funky new Dodge Caliber’s), did some shopping for provisions, grabbed a haircut, ate some lunch, and caught up on some much needed sleep. The sleep was the most important as I had been waking up every hour on the hour the night before we left. I figured I’d just call Saturday my rest day, and swap it with Monday. Oh yeah, the weather… WOW! Mid 80’s with a 10 – 20mph cool breeze. The water temp is rumored to be around 70. So nice to be away.
